We designed our waterproof Outers to be used in a variety of ways, making them one of the most versatile diaper covers out there!
#1: CLOTH DIAPER COVER
Use Outer over an Esembly Inner to make the perfect, blowout-proof cloth diapers. Outers can also be used over other brands/styles of cloth diaper.
#2: COVER UP THAT DISPOSABLE
Disposables are notorious for “blowing out”, contain those messy leaks by using an Outer over your disposable diaper for peace of mind.
#3: REUSABLE SWIM DIAPER
Taking baby in the water? Outer makes a fantastic swim diaper when used on its own with no absorbency inside.
How do I the Outer? Do I need an Inner underneath?
Snap cotton Inner (sold separately) onto baby then cover with Outer ensuring all cotton is safely tucked inside. Adjust snap rows independently to get perfct fit at legs and waist. Outers can also be used on their own as reusable swim diapers.
Are they bulky? Will I need to size up baby’s clothes?
Esembly cloth diaper Inners and Outers come in two trim fitting sizes to take baby from birth-potty training. They are the trimmest fitting natural fibers out there and will fit beautifully under baby’s clothing with no need to size up.
How do I clean the Outers?
After a decade washing 18,000 cloth diapers a week through our busy NYC diaper service we came up with a simple 4 step wash routine and PATENTED Washing Powder. Follow our instructions and cloth diapering is as easy as 2-3 loads of laundry a week!
How many Outers do I need?
For full time cloth diapering we recommend having 24 Inners and 6 Outers. For part time diapering you’ll want to have approx 12 Inners and 4 Outers. General rule of thumb is to have 3 Inners for every Outer.
What are Outers made of? Are they breathable?
Outers are made of recycled plastic bottles! They are soft and stretchy on the inside and out (no exposed PUL). Our proprietary fabric allows for heat and vapor transmission to keep diaper breathable and baby comfortable.
