With football’s continued influence on fashion over the last few years, it comes as no surprise to see brands designing ‘soccer-inspired’ pieces, alongside current and ex-players getting involved at events. Here are some of our favourites from the week.

Djibril Cissé Walks for Y-3

Former French international Djibril Cissé was seen alongside the likes of Candace Parker and Marcos Montoya as the faces of Y-3’s PFW 2025 collection. Y-3 was born from a partnership between adidas and Japanese designer Yohiji Yamamota 23 years ago, and since then has been paving the way for more brands to fuse football and fashion together.

Cissé wore an oversized black two-piece suit paired with black adidas boots, a subtle base to keep all focus on the statement piece. A full-length orange puffer turned heads with a design inspired by Japanese art design Suiboku-ga, featuring orange blotches printed across. A forward-thinking Japanese design with a touch of Arsene Wenger touchline fit.

The former Liverpool player was also seen sitting front row at KidSuper and Willy Chavarria’s debut show, wearing their KidSuper’s latest collab with Bape.

PSG x Jordan Wings Pop-Up

Following the release of their latest collection, PSG x Jordan Wings opened the doors to a pop up in the heart of Paris during fashion week. Designers took a more upscale approach to the latest series of pieces, including Italian crafted products such as leather bags and sweaters. This comes after both brands dipped their toes in Luxury when teaming up with Dior a few years ago. The pop up was drafted to mirror the upscale approach taken by the brands in PSG x Jordan Wings, focusing on a clean aesthetic paired with golden accents.

Current and Ex Ballers Walking for 424

Californian streetwear label 424 displayed a collection heavy on the football influence last week. A partnership with Nike leans into 424’s founders long standing connection with the game. The collection features pieces for the Brazilian and U.S national teams as well as Inter Milan. Its only right that, for a series so inspired by football, football players would hit the run way to display the collection.

Designer Guillermo Andrade has also been transparent with his love for the beautiful game, so creating a collection of football inspired pieces and having players model his clothing definitely throws his name into those paving the way for the future of football-fashion. Whilst the Tottenham player put on a show, he wasn’t the only player to take to the runway. Former Arsenal icons Robert Pires and Mathieu Flamini were also cast in the show, bringing a gunners walk to Paris Fashion Week.

With Moise Kean walking in PDF garms for the brands first ever show earlier in the month at Milan Fashion Week, players are taking huge steps towards bridging the gap between football and fashion culture.
