Great Smart Bulbs With No Extra App Needed

I started using smart plugs to control lamps and other devices a few years ago, and once I got used to the convenience, I was hooked. Since I live in an apartment and can’t swap out switches, smart bulbs are really the easiest way for me to add smart lighting. I had been looking for candelabra smart bulbs for my ceiling fan lights and was surprised how limited the options were compared to regular smart bulbs. I first tried some flame-tip bulbs that looked nice, but they were pricey and honestly not as bright as I wanted.

I didn’t specifically set out to buy the Amazon Basics version, but with slim pickings these seemed like the best option—and I’m so glad I gave them a try. I love these bulbs. Since I already use Alexa for so much, setup was effortless. No extra app to download, they were recognized right away, and I had them running in minutes.

One feature I didn’t expect to appreciate so much is the way they turn on and off with a quick soft fade instead of abruptly snapping on or off. It’s subtle, but such a nice touch. I also didn’t think I’d use the color changing or dimming much, but I’ve ended up really enjoying those features too—brighter light in the morning, warmer light in the evening, and the flexibility to adjust things however I want. Great brightness, easy setup, and lots of features I didn’t know I’d use. Very happy with these.
